Gimme Three Podcast - A Series For Cinephiles

08 - Dorothy Arzner Spotlight

Nicholas Ybarra & Bella Efstratis Episode 8

We wrap up our celebration of Women's History Month by honoring the most prolific American female filmmaker in history, Dorothy Arzner.

In this episode, we highlight some of Arzner's industry-shaking contributions to cinema. We also deep-dive into three of her films: the 1931 pre-code drama Working Girls, the Joan Crawford film The Bride Wore Red, and the classic feminist film Dance, Girl, Dance, which stars Maureen O'Hara and Lucille Ball.
